We offer two kinds of carbon firing media for your BronzClay and CopprClay firing needs. It is recommended to pre-fire the "Rainbow" Carbon Firing Media on the first firing if you desire the rainbow patina. The rainbow patina carbon will last about 10 firings before the colors start to dissipate. The coconut carbon will not give you colors, just a bronze (on the bronze) or copperfinish (on the copper). However, odd things do happen occasionally and you might get colors with the Coconut. Coconut carbon is the recommended carbon media for use with COPPRclay. However, our regular "Rainbow" carbon works well with the COPPRclay as well. Not all carbon is created equal and other distributor's regular carbon does not work with the COPPRclay.

The carbon is sold by the pound. We offer two sizes at this time. If you are interested in a larger size, please email us. A 3 pound bag is large, plus the shipping adds up. We don't want to sell you more than you need.

• The small 7" tall container FS161 holds 15.9 oz. You'll need to purchase the 1 pound bag and it will fit perfectly!
• The large 7" tall container FS172 holds 26.3 oz. You'll need to purchase two 1 pound bags or the 3 pound bag.
• The small 10" tall container FS172 holds 26.8 oz. You'll need to purchase two 1 pound bags or the 3 pound bag.
• The large 10" tall container FS173 holds 32.0 oz. You'll need to purchase the 3 pound bag.
