Enameling Sampler I

Whole Lotta Whimsy Studio, Tucson, AZ February 2nd, 2009

Enameling has many techniques and methods. A project class just scratches the surface as you spend most of the time, working on the piece, not the enameling technique. In this class we'll learn enameling the best way...by play and experimentation. We'll explore many techniques and in a short amount of time you'll leave with samples and new techniques. You'll learn about colors and quirks when fired, you'll learn about leaded vs unleaded, how to clean the enamels, and then of course, techniques. Look for Enameling Sampler II, and III coming in 2009.

An Evening of Keum Boo

Whole Lotta Whimsy Studio, Tucson, AZ February 3rd, 2009

Gold adds a lot of bang for the buck. It means you can charge more for the piece, it will appeal to customers that wear gold or silver, and is quick and relatively inexpensive. We'll make a great pendant in PMC, fire, Keum Boo and finish....all in an evening! Keum Boo is the Korean method of applying 23.5 or 24K gold to the surface of fine silver. Through heat and friction a molecular bond occurs!

Double-Textured Domed Pendant with Linda Kaye-Moses

Visiting Artist Extraordinaire Series

Whole Lotta Whimsy Studio, Tucson, AZ February 7th & 8th, 2009

Join us for 2 amazing days making a beautiful double-textured pendant. Each side will be embellished with a different texture. One texture will be accomplished using a silicone printing plate. You will learn to carve a printing block. The second texture will be accomplished using a Micro-Folded printing plate. This is done with the Bonny Doon Micro-Folding Brake (a corrugation tool) to make the printing plate on metal, which will be altered to produce unique patterns.

Once the domed pendants has been fired, Linda will guide you through enameling the pendant using an adaptation of the champleve technique. You'll leave with a beautifully colored pendant! Bring your imagination and enthusiasm. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn from an amazing teacher who doesn't teach that often. Her book will be out in 2009!
